Does everybody know breakfast is the most important meal of the day?
Is that really the truth?
A large number of people would not agree with that statement.
You can often hear people complaining that they can’t have breakfast and that breakfast preparation is frustrating them and complicates the course of their day.
“I feel like a balloon has stuck in my stomach. I have no energy in the morning, I constantly have to go to the toilet, etc.” Those are the most common excuses we hear from people who skip their breakfast. And these are wrong. Why?
Skipping breakfast can only lead to productivity reduction, mood swings and it can also affect your appearance.
Because the problem is not in the breakfast itself. The problem is how, what and when you eat.
So what to eat?
Nutritionists often say that the best breakfast is the one that contains complex carbohydrates, fibers, and proteins.
Your breakfast should be light, easy and even without preparation. Try with fruits…
How and when to eat?
There isn’t any special schedule when should you eat. We often think there is one, something like “I have to eat before work”. Usually, in that situations, we are often late and the food we take is probably the first thing that we grab from the fridge. In that scenario, rather do not eat. Advice is – take your time, eat slowly and smart. Think about what is expecting you that day and prepare yourself for that! You can always prepare your breakfast day before. That way you could eat at work, in between some brake or just organize yourself and get up earlier!
Here are some basic and simple recommendations for breakfast:
Oatmeal – they are rich in omega-3 fatty acid as well as beta glucan which decreases the level of cholesterol in your blood. You can make the oatmeal with yogurt or milk and even throw in some fresh fruit.
Eggs – they are a great source of proteins and vitamin D. You can make scrambled eggs, omelet, soft-boiled eggs, etc.
Fruits – the best fruit to start the day with are bananas or grapefruit. Grapefruit is rich in antioxidants and fibers, while bananas are full of potassium.
And, here is one example of the breakfast:
– 200ml of yogurt
– fruit (an apple, banana, berry fruit, kiwi, etc.)
– nuts or dry fruit (walnuts, almonds, raisin, etc.)
Mix the ingredients and leave it in the fridge overnight.
